Mike Russo of Environment Canada said there had been two confirmed tornadoes in Saskatchewan Saturday. In addition to the one north of Outlook, there was one approximately three kilometres southwest of Kenaston.
Shannon Bestland, meteorologist with Environment Canada, said the agency was receiving multiple calls about funnel clouds touching down in south-central Saskatchewan as far south as Regina Beach.
“There are so many, we can’t count them right now,” she said Saturday afternoon.
She said many pictures being sent to Environment Canada were of funnel clouds that look “quite dangerous” and that the agency recommended anyone in south-central Saskatchewan who saw or heard the storm to take shelter, preferably to a basement.
